Flash Facebook Mobile Integration

As facebook has revised the platform types for applications, I need a sample configuration of the facebook app to be configured so that a flash based mobile iOS app can connect to facebook login page and proceed from there.

I have read online blogs where it is written to get the app id etc, but no information on app type. If I follow desktop based, I can create a website based facebook app but now my facebook login method throws invalid URI.

Any suggestions are welcome.

When I'm exporting one of my projects as a release build, I'm getting the following crash. Whether I execute the command in the IDE or from the command line (via an ant build) I get the same crash. Has anyone else seen this before?

Flash Builder 4: “Flex 2 is not supported; use Flex 3.0.0 or higher ”

In our project we have to maintain an application developed in Flex 2, but we have licensed Flash Builder 4, which is now available for Adobe only. When we tried to configure Flash Builder 4 with Flex 2 SDK we get the following error: "Flex 2 is not supported; use Flex 3.0.0 or higher "

What should we do to work with Flex 2 in Flash Builder 4?

Thanks for the help

Warnings in bin-release XML files: contentUIText.xml cannot be validated

$

Flash Builder 4.7 is throwing over a hundred warnings, and they're all the same.

When I build a project, the bin-release folder winds up in the project, and each contentUIText.xml file has this Warning:

The file cannot be validated as the XML definition "http://ns.adobe.com/asf/asf_1_0.dtd" that is specified as describing the syntax of the file cannot be located.

on this line of the XML file:

<!DOCTYPEasfSYSTEM"http://ns.adobe.com/asf/asf_1_0.dtd">

where it's clear that the URL cannot resolve. How can I get rid of this warning, or have the builds point the DocType element at the correct URL?  I have fiddled with various XML validation settings in Preferences (I'm on OSX) and none of them seem to do the trick.

Is Flash Builder 4.7 being maintained anymore?

$

I posted this question in the Adobe Air Development forum. (Is Flash Builder 4.7 being maintained anymore?)

One user responded that he heard Chris Campbell of Adobe report that he believed that they will fix major bugs but we should not expect actual progress on the tool itself because Adobe feels that the community creates better tools on their own.

Does anyone on this forum have further intelligence on the future of Flash Builder? I am trying to decide if it is time to jump ship to another IDE.

Thanks kindly!

Flash Builder 4.6 Mobile Project Using Blazeds & Native Extension

$

Hi,

I'm building a Flex Mobile project in FB, that uses BlazeDS to access data through a Spring Project, and also uses an ANE file to access the device's contacts.  I want to debug the application on a device connected with a USB cable, so had to set my root and output folders in Server Settings  using UNC so it can be found from my device thru my wifi network. I also have added the native extension via the Build Path and Packaging tabs.  When I debug from a desktop emulator, things launch OK and the extension correctly tells me it's not supported on the emulator. However, if I debug on the device, FB throws an exception at launch, complaining of a java null pointer exception.  The Eclipse log, in part, looks like this:

I guess the problem is that when the application tries to run on my device, the extension is not finding the application descriptor file.  Is there anything else I need to do?

I appreciate any help.

Any News from Adobe Air SDK, on why we still can't REMOVE "android.permission.INTERNET" from a release compile?

$

Is there any new developments on the Adobe Air issue, of being able to COMPLETELY REMOVE the "android.permission.INTERNET" from the manifest file?  As of today, you can still completely remove the "android.permission.INTERNET" from the manifest, bundle your app with Captive Runtime, and Adobe Air SDK will still "tack" the permission onto the end of the manifest block. With users and privacy concerns these days, surely Adobe would recognize that developers building apps that DO NOT REQUIRE Network Access, should be able to remove that permission. Any help on this?

Creating .as class in Flash Builder for movieclip stored in SWC

$

I need to use movieclips created in Flash Professional CC in my Flash Builder project. I have exported my .fla file as an .swc and included it in my Flash Builder project. The movieclips for which I DON'T need a custom .as class import without a problem. But the movieclips that need to be linked to an .as class don't appear. I have tried the following, using my ThoughtBubble movieclip as an example:

1) Giving the .fla with the ThoughtBubble movieclip access to ThoughtBubble.as so that the movieclip doesn't create a dummy ThoughtBubble.as file.

2) Denying the .fla access to ThoughtBubble.as so that the movieclip is forced to create a dummy ThoughtBubble.as class.

Either way, the ThoughtBubble movieclip does not appear in the list of movieclips in my swc when imported into my Flash Builder project.

3) I also tried removing my ThoughtBubble.as file from my FlashBuilder project and THEN importing the swc. The ThoughtBubble movieclip does show up in the list of swc assets--BUT when I try to create a ThoughtBubble.as file, I get the following error: "ThoughtBubble.swc already exists."

What am I doing wrong? How can I link my ThoughtBubble movieclip with ThoughtBubble.as in Flash Builder?

Here is a screenshot of my fla publish settings:

publish settings.png

And a screenshot of my ThoughtBubble movieclip properties:

Thanks in advance!

Creating formulas

Hello guys,

I am looking to create math formulas on Flash Builder...  Is there a way to do that?

A + 100 = 100A.....  idea is to put values and constants to give automatic results.

I am first time trying Fb and I can't find the "design" button on the app....  So... I got nothing other than the idea in my head to get some work done..

Any help on how I can start this app?

Run from CD

Hi,

I have built a Desktop application with captive runtime that runs OK when I run it from my hard disk, when i burn everything to a CD the application doesn't start, it shows a white screen but never loads the intro.

My question is if the exported applications can run from a CD in general or if there is something wrong with my code.

Thanks in advance.

Flash Builder trusted file problems

Greetings,

I am currently working on a project in Flash Builder, using the Away3D SDK.

When I export it as debug version, it runs fine when I start it from the project-directory. When I export it as release version and try to star it I get the error

SecurityError: Error #2148: SWF file file:///D|/Adobe/Creative%20Cloud%20Files/XXX/XXX/bin%2Drelease/XXX.swf cannot access local resource file:///D|/Adobe/Creative%20Cloud%20Files/XXX/XXX/bin%2Drelease/XXX.swf/[[DYNAMIC]]/1. Only local-with-filesystem and trusted local SWF files may access local resources.

  at flash.display::Loader/get content()

  at away3d.loaders.parsers::ImageParser/onLoadComplete()

I get the same Error when I try to run the debug swf from another directory.

Of course I solved this by manually adding it to the global security settings of my Flash Player, but my problem is that I dont want others to need to do that.

I've never had this problem in flash professional cc, so I guess there must be a solution.

I appreciate your help.
