Trying to use adobe air 17 in a Flex Mobile ap

hello,

 

My Flashbuilder is using  AIR 17 as is visible in AIR aps.

 

However, my Adobe flex mobile app won't let me update a certain line in the .xml

 

I want to change:

 

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="no"?>

<application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/3.1">

 

to

 

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="no"?>

<application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/17">

 

 

Yet when I try and debug, I get a popup window that says:

 

Process terminated without establishing connection to debugger.

 

invalid application descriptor: Unknown namespace: http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/17

Tom Krcha P2P demo works fine on Web, but I can't get it working with Android

I was able to get it running on web, and I had two sessions open: One run, one debug, and they talked with each other and found neighbors being added.

 

I tried running it on Android, and it loaded, but didn't see when new neighbors logged on, nor did the chat get sent to the web clients.

 

What could I be doing wrong in Android?  Do you think its some weird phone setting or permissions?

I see AIR supports UDP communication.

 

In the past I've written a 3d video game with P2P UDP sockets in C/C++.

 

I was wondering if it is even possible to do P2P UDP on Android using AIR.

Am loosing just too much time to figure out how the hell to get the AIR 4 sdk asdoc to work.

 

The lack of documentation, instructions from Adobe is getting overwhelming... This is just unbelivable how a company can release a product without any documentation or such.

Even if there are solutions, example and such, they always are spread out on some blogs... but not in this case, like everyone is holding information in hostage.

 

So, now to my freggin question, how to set up the ASDOC on mac in Flash builder !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

 

first when pointing external tool to asdoc, im getting error:

usage: dirname path

usage: dirname path

Error: Unable to access jarfile /../lib/legacy/asdoc.jar

 

Then i  change the patch in asdoc file to a absolute one... and im getting:

usage: dirname path

usage: dirname path

Error: This Java instance does not support a 32-bit JVM.

Please install the desired version.

 

Seriously, 32bit on mac, what kind of default is that ? ARGHHHH

 

then i change the desired version, 64 and now this....

Flash Builder 4.6 horribly unresponsive

I'm using Flash builder 4.6 (and have used prior versions of flash builder as well) with a flex/actionscript project on a Windows 7, 64 bit box.  Flash Builder itself (not the launched application) is horribly slow and unresponsive.  I do not have the auto build turned on or design mode on

 

Here are some of the problems I regularly have:

- Opening the window, if it has been minimized, and clicking anywhere on it causes the window to be greyed out and have the "(not responding)" message added to its title bar.  It starts working after 15 seconds.

- Using the arrow keys to move up and down in a .as or .mxml file is jerky.  I.e., some keystrokes move at the rate I hit them, but others pause, wait a few seconds, and then move.  This also occurs with mouse actions.

- Using code navigation like F3 or <CTRL>-<SHIFT>-G causes Flash Builder to pause while it thinks.  In the case of <CTRL>-<SHIFT>-G, it pauses so long that one thinks there are no references (because the search starts with 0 results).

- Building code within flash builder takes minutes.  Even the modification of a single file takes forever.

 

In general, I've found working with Flash Builder one of the worst development experiences (I've worked with Eclipse for the last 6 years, VIM, & Visual Studio too) I've had.

I developed app and uploaded to Google Play. It is working perfect.

Same application .. i generated licences from developer.apple.com and followed all rules to export *.api file.

 

I login to Mac .. download Application Loader and tried to upload file. I got long error and warning . I am developing application in flash builder 4.6 but message is saying to use xcode... Please can any one help

Errors in app submission phase.

When I attempt to submit an app to the app-store via application loader I get hit with a wall of errors.

(The app is intended only to test submission process before I move onto the next phase which, is rapid prototyping all it'sjust a simple abstract drawing on frame 1 with no action script.)

(I used FL CS6 with the latest updates)

 

(I do all of my developing in windows the mac is strictly for submitting apps)

(I put in .png icons for every size available within FLCS6 which is 29x29,57x57,114x114,512x512,48x48,72x72,50x50,58x58,100x100,144x144,1024x1024.)

(I am primarily a windows user and I am hoping for windows/cross platform solutions.)

I am using flash builder 4.6 , Air 18.0 on windows 7.

I am receiving error.

I packed all type of style one by one Default-568h@2x.png Default.png, Default-568h@2x~iPhone.png etc but eror is not going.

what i do to remove error. I packed up images and images one by one on splashimage... default page.

Now i am confuse may be this is Air error or apple error, or my flash builder error.

Creative Cloud says I have Flash Builder Premium but I only have Standard, I want to try Premium but can't! How?

I've been using Flash Builder 4.7 Standard and want to use the Profiler and other Premium tools but cannot without the Premium version. I went to get a trial for Premium, got redirected to get Creative Cloud (that I already have), and under Installed, it says that I have Flash Builder Premium, but I don't. I wanted to try the Premium version to see if I like the other available tools but cannot try it.

 

Is there any way I can try Premium since Creative Cloud says I already have it, but I only have Standard??

Problem running adobe application on Mac

Hello,

I have developed an application which run swf made in Adobe flash professional on swf loader. I developed the application on windows. After development, I built the application with .air format to test my application on Mac. I run the .air file on Mac. It installed the application successfully. Everything ran fine. The problem I am having is that my swf is not being shown on swf loader instead it is showing broken area whereas on windows swf were running on swf loader, but in Mac only broken area being shown by the application. First I thought that the issue is with the path of the swf and I traced the path of the swf. The path traced by the application was ok. In short there is nothing wrong with the path of the swf. Can anyone please suggest the solution?

I'm trying to publish some cartoons to YouTube, but I can't seem to get the files translated properly.  I've tried using File -> Export -> Movie, but it takes a lot of time and memory, the quality is low, and I get some really annoying animation errors.  See 5:03 in the video below:

I can't even seem to convert my longer animations, because the converter is using too much memory.  I was wondering if anyone knew a better way of doing this.  I read that it might be possible to do this with one of the Creative Cloud products, but intend to make sure it is before I consider spending the money on it.

Apple macbook camera not working with flash

I'm using actionscript 3 to build a flash object which uses the camera for recording.

This works great on all platforms except Apple macbooks series.

Here is the code I'm using to use the camera:

 

cam =Camera.getCamera();

cam.setQuality(0,80);

cam.setMode(400,170,30,true);

cam.addEventListener(StatusEvent.STATUS, cameraStatusHandler);

Flash Builder 4.7 hangs with script error on win 8

Since installing the latest security update for Flash 18 and doing the recent patch Tuesday updates to my Windows 8 install Flash Builder hangs at the start displaying a window that tells me a script has stopped running at line 1. The window shows rollovers etc. for the buttons but will not close and allow me to continue whatever I click.

 

This may be linked with that HTML/web window that Flash Builder demands it displays when loading. Is there an .ini file I can edit to stop that window being displayed?

 

Any other ideas would be welcome. This one looks different to the other posts about FB not running in this forum.

Create an HD capable plugin for website video conferencing

Forgive me if this is not the right forum for this question.   I've been tasked with creating a website that is capable of having high definition video conferencing.  I'm an experienced .Net programmer, but not Adobe...hence the question here.  I've built a website that currently uses a third party plugin and have it running through the Adobe Cirrus server rather than a traditional media server....both for initial cost purposes as well supposed performance as the research I did said that peer-to-peer would be better.  The site works just fine....users can log in and communicate with each other in the "conference room", but the quality of the video is fairly poor....it pixelates each time someone moves.  That could be due to having a fairly low bandwidth development environment....or it could be the plug in, or the Cirrus server.  Having virtually no Adobe programming experience I can't say what it is.

 

Would someone be able to give me some advice?  Should I have a real media server?  Is there a good resource for learning how to program ActionScript?  And is it even possible for me to create a plugin that would give HD quality video (of course given the appropriate HD camera feed).

I have an Adobe Air program, that I have written while attending school and have lost the original code. Is there any way to open the package and get the original files? I am thinking that the flash builder version was 4.5, not sure the air version however. 

Did FB 4.7 change how Embed() CSS directive works?

I'm new to Flash and am maintaining a site written in an earlier version of Flash Builder (don't know what version). Our only license is for 4.7 so I imported the project into 4.7 and built. Everything works fine except that a set of images that are supposed to fill in a close box, and are supposed to change based on mouse over and click, are not showing up at all.

 

The images are being embedded through a CSS file:

 

CloseButton{

   upSkin: Embed(source="assets/tab/Close_Up.png");

   overSkin: Embed(source="assets/tab/Close_Over.png");

   downSkin: Embed(source="assets/tab/Close_Down.png");

}

 

I decompiled the old and new swfs with JPEXS Free Flash Decompiler and found that, in the old swf, the images are stored as images (DefineBitsLossless2) with names like:

 

ereviewer2__embed_css_assets_tab_Close_Up_png_491510569

 

In the new file, they are stored as sprites (DefineSprite) with names like:

_TitleWindowStyle_embed_css_Assets_swf_CloseButtonUp_931849471

 

The tabs are created with something called com.Extanded_TabNavigator.

 

The only difference between the two builds is the version of Flash Builder used.

 

Any insights into this problem?

The only link is for a ver 4.6 trial and that links to a download that is titled Flash Builder Premium.  Where's Flash Builder Std Version 4.7?
