Maybe you could help me out here as I’ve search the web and Adobe forum but could not find any answer.

I just installed Flash Builder 4.6 (after uninstalling 4.5.1), now when I run my app, the adl.exe crashes (error details below). I thought because I have an app that was created with 4.5, but then I created a new app with this version and it still crash. I have Windows 7 64-bit PC.

I had to reinstall FB 4.6 over top of existing FB 4.6 was not able to uninstall, was a really ugly mess between CC/FB 4.7 and FB 4.6 getting corrupted during CC uninstall.

FB 4.6 Now opens but my CFB 2 plugin is toast. CFC's open with word pad and Cf server is no where to be found.

Tried reinstall CFB2 and I get an error message stating CFB plugin is already configured to run with this instance of eclipse, please select a different instance of eclipse to continue.

Um what it is uninstalled from control panel, and not even in the system.

Any ideas?

I've run into a memory leak problem during programming AS3.

I try to format a text in as3 and adding it to the stage, but there happens something crazy.

This is a part of my code:

The moment I add this textfield to my stage and check the memory usage with adobe scout CC the "other bitmap memory" shows nothing weird and acts just fine.

BUT...

When I run this code and add a capital W to the text the "other bitmap memory" goes crazy.

The crazy thing is when I add a letter I to the text it just runs normal.

I think it has something to do with the width or the size of the font. Increasing the font size will give the same problems.

Does anyone now how to prevent this problem???

I am new to Flash Build and I'm starting a new project that will go on mobile (iOS and Android). When I create a new ActionScript project:

1. What option do I select for “Application Type.” Web or Desktop? During the project I will have to test so does this matter?
2. Is it possible to switch from a Web application type to a Desktop after I’ve made a selection? If so where to I change that setting?

I would like to make a Flash Professional Component in Flash Builder.

This is a lot easier for code hinting and you don't have to use a FLA file.

Also you don't have to right click the component in the library and "export component SWC"

The ONLY difference i've seen in the swc file files between a Flash Professional Component and a Actionscript Library Project (created in Flash Builder), is 3 lines of code in the catalog.xml file.

I used to develop for Flash a great deal but haven't touched it in two years.  I lost track of what's been going on with creating apps with Flash and wondered what has changed over the last 2 years.  It still looks like Flash Builder 4.7 is the same software but have there been improvements in frame rates?  Is Flash a good option for doing games or should I work with Corona?

This is really starting to drive me crazy. Perhaps this is a misuse of flascc/crossbridge...

Basically I am trying to load various flascc compiled swfs - the problem I am having is that I either:

1) Leak domain memory and byte array memory (according to Scout) if I do nothing to clear up the CModule settings on exit.

2) I do not leak memory if I do the following:

CModule.rootSprite = null;      // I think this is not needed.

CModule.activeConsole = null;      // causes illegal write to read-only property ...flascc.as3_id2rcv on global;

CModule.vfs.console = null; // Think this is essentially alias of above

CModule.vfs = null; // Doesn't seem to cause issues, and does free some memory

But, setting activeConsole to null will cause a #1074 read-only property error (on loading a different flascc swf) - but if I do not do this on loading a *different* flascc swf I get the error "Error: calling startAsync with an active console".

I have a parent swf that will load in these flascc compiled swfs (parent swf is regular as3) - each child swf will set itself up as the active console and call startAsync. There will only be one flascc compiled swf running at once.

Is it possible to initialise a flascc swf, unload it, and initialise another one? I mean, without leaking memory. Do I need to do anything to reset the flash c++ runtime?

Flash Builder 4.7 won't let me export a release build for any AIR apps at all...

It started when I wanted to make some changes to an old AIR app.  Couldn't even run it in the debugger, so I updated the AIR SDK (using instructions found here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-builder/kb/overlay-air-sdk-flash-builder.html   and here: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/how-overlay-air-sdk-flex-sdk.html )

So after doing all that, and making some other changes, I finally got my AIR app to run in the debugger in Flash Builder 4.7.  Made the changes I wanted to make, then tried to Export Release Build...  Kept giving me a "Password Incorrect for this certificate" error whenever I tried it -- but it would never let me enter a password.  I went to Project | Export Release Build, and on the first screen there, I would click "Next" and it would jump straight to compiling, skipping over the screen where you're supposed to be able to enter the certificate info and password.

Figured maybe because it was an old AIR project, that was causing the problem.  So I started a brand new AIR project -- very simple one with just a <s:Label> inside a <s:WindowedApplication>.  Went to Project | Properties | Flash Builder Packaging and created a brand-new self-signed certificate (which seemed to work) but again upon trying to export the release build, it wouldn't let me get to the screen where you enter the password.  Clicking "Next" from the first screen on Project | Export Release Build just jumps straight to compiling and (of course) it gives me the Incorrect Password error, because it never gave me a chance to enter the password.

So what is going on here?  Why can I not export any release builds for any AIR projects?  This is extremely frustrating -- Flash Builder 4.6 never gave me these kinds of problems.  What can I do to fix Flash Builder 4.7 so it will work properly with AIR projects?

We're using Flash Builder for an enterprise application. It builds super super super super slow. It takes roughly 3'25'' to build. This kind of compiling speed is unbearable for front-end development. Please help!!!!

Hi,

I need to evaluate flash builder 4.7 on a development environment that has no internet connection (due to security policy at my company)

Unfortunately, using the creative cloud setup requires a direct internet connection during the setup (and not only during the download).

I would like to have a complete evaluation setup, that I can copy manualy to the isolated computer and install it directly there.

Can you please advise how can I overcome this issue?

I can send a single socket command to my C/C++ server.

But I never get the policy request packet?

About 3 years ago my code worked fine, but now it seems like I don't get the "security policy request" to my C/C++ server.  It is set up to send the correct response if I got it.

On connecting Logitech ControllerF710 to an android device, KeyboardEvents in AS3 gives the following as keycode and keylocation-

The issue is that many buttons are giving the same keycodes. Is there a way to map these get different keycodes ?

Also any button with 16777238 , the android devices goes to home.

I have prepared an application for Android in Adobe Flash Builder. In application there are prayers in Arabic as a list. In app , short prayers are displaying quickly, but long prayers are displaying  after a long time. This is my problem.

Hi all,

Now and then I get the strangest errors on code. It indicates one or more whole function(s) is/are erroneous. I've seen it happen on my own code, on the Feathers UI code and can not make anything of the error Flash Builder produces (see attached image). The error goes away after some 'fiddling' with the code (nonsense modifications and saving again) or sometimes a "clean project" occasionally it's stubborn enough to make me restart the whole thing (sigh).

Can anyone make anything of this error?

Did not take advantage of the free upgrade awhile back and need to upgrade my Flash Builder 4.6 licensed in Master Collection 5.5 to version 4.7.

My serial is not working from my MC5.5 and my individual license from my Flash Builder is not working.

Any ideas on to solve this issue?

Tried to purchase an upgrade on their site but cannot find one that will let me upgrade from 4.6 to 4.7.

I have a custom component with a TextInput with a id="userID" assigned.

and i have a Login button with a id="loginBtn" and have <s:Button id="loginBtn" includeIn="Login" x="318" y="237" height="20" label="Login" click="FlexGlobals.topLevelApplication.gotoView();"/>

In the main application i have this

example if i type Sales in the TextInput userID and click the Login button i want to switch to that view in the main application.

i am new to flex
just want that behavior which this page has while creating Tags at bottom

i  want to add sparks buttons dynamic using actionscript to a sparks container,
each button has a click event listener added on them before adding to container.
i want button to be clickable to only on icon area and not on label,
button have icon on right side and a label.
can we use custom skin for that , or any other workaround.
