Testing App on Android Device - Error

When I try to test "Hello World" on my Moto Z I get the following error:

"Error occured while trying to start ADB server"

I have my device connected by USB, (Debug Mode).

I have tried it in "Charge this device" (as instructed to), "Transfer files", "software Installation".

None of these options work.

I still get the error. I have googled and can't even find any reference to this error messages.

(FYI: The spelling "occurred" is misspelled in the warning screen.)

Does anyone have any advice on this?
